Mental Health Evaluations are Court Approved
Many times the court will order a Mental Health Evaluation for reasons like uncertainty of the person’s behavior is related to undiagnosed and / or untreated mental health problems, and often during domestic conflicts and with custody evaluations.
They are able to help determine what is needed to help you learn healthy coping skills to manage your anger in a more healthy and appropriate way.

How long will it take?
⦁ The evaluation will take between 45 – 60 minutes. It will help the counselor to determine what, if any, treatment is needed.
⦁ It typically takes 3 – 5 business days to compile a completed evaluation with corresponding recommendations for court / probation officer.

What we will cover in the evaluation:
⦁ Work history
⦁ Personal history
⦁ Mental health
⦁ Family Mental Health
⦁ Medical History
⦁ Medications you are taking
⦁ Relationship History
⦁ Social History
⦁ Substance use and abuse
⦁ Legal History
We will do a personal interview to gather needed information. Your counselor will discuss the results of the evaluation with you, and based on the findings, appropriate recommendations will be made.

Individualized Evaluations
Every person and every situation is different. We are here to help you resolve what brings you to us. We are NOT here to judge or interrogate you. The more open and straight forward you are about what is going on, the easier it will be for us to help you get what you need. Treatment will not be recommended unless it is felt to be clinically needed. Your counselor has 32 years of experience providing evaluations, counseling, and she has worked with the court system for many of these years. This experience helps provide the needed insight and knowledge to make the appropriate recommendations.
You may not be happy about needing to see us, but we are committed to assist you with what you need, before you leave / complete your evaluation.

After the evaluation – what to expect:
⦁ A written statement from the counselor indicating your evaluation has been completed. This can be used / shown to your probation officer to verify your attendance and evaluation completion.
⦁ Written treatment recommendation(s) that will be provided to your PO and / or to the court.

What we need you to provide for us:
Whether you need a regular or a rushed evaluation, you will only be able to get them completed IF you bring all needed documentation to the appt. If you do not bring the needed documentation, we will not be able to complete your evaluation until the documentation (listed below) has been received.
⦁ Photo ID
